Groupe Lebel is constantly growing: over time, the companies Bois Daaquam, Daaquam Lumber Maine, Lebel Cambium, IB EWP, Les Bois Lemelin, Bois de sciage Lafontaine and Plaster Rock Lumber Corporation have joined the company, so that 25 sites are now part of the family business. In addition, Groupe Lebel is one of the leading lumber manufacturers in Eastern Canada.

Constantly evolving, the company invests heavily in improving its plants, in particular through state-of-the-art equipment to increase the effectiveness, health and safety and efficiency of workers.

Overall mission of the position

Under the supervision of the plant manager, the successful candidate will perform administrative tasks related to the daily operations of the company: production, payroll and some secretarial tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. List of production activities

• Undertake planned maintenance, breakdown repair and condition monitoring activities and the facility and the equipment in it.
• Report to Supervisor the various breakdowns.
• Assist with the training and mentoring of new and inexperienced employees.
• Ensure they are following all safety policies and procedures.
• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings.
• Keep the work area of operation in good condition, clean and a hazard free working environment.
• Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Fabricate, construct, and repair equipment in the various facilities.
• Carry out metal and welding; perform diagnosis and repairs on processes.
• Work with diverse machines and equipment, such as hand and power tools, and drill presses saws in carrying out maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ensure the maintenance of equipment and tools in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition.
• Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems where possible.
• Engage in thorough troubleshooting to replace or repair items and equipment.
• Proactively identify and implement t improvements to operational machine and resources efficiencies in giving consideration to the impact on other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned to be deemed in the best interest of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS & ASSETS TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE GENERIC SKILLS

• High School Diploma  or G.E.D.  Trade school certification or a minimum of two years of progressive and practical experience.
• Ability to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of facilities equipment.
• Ability to interpret, illustrate, and apply regulation codes and rules.

      Valid Maine driver’s license
