Global Mission of the position

Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer, the Boiler Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the steam plant while helping to optimize steam production processes.

BIG RESPONSABILITIES
     • Maintain proper documentation, including log sheet and log book

• Determine appropriate course of action in maintenance and emergency situations

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Perform daily duties as per the Steam Plant Standard Operating Procedures

• Troubleshoot and coordinate the repair of boiler room equipment

• Optimizing steam producing processes

• Daily monitoring and maintaining of Boiler Room/steam line equipment in the plant and control room

• General housekeeping and upkeep of the steam plant

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS & ASSETS TECHNICAL KNOLEDGE GENERIC SKILLS

• Grade 2
• Self-motivated and a willingness to learn
• Must attend block release as required or challenge Power Engineer exams to get 4th Class and 3rd Class Power Engineer licenses within a reasonable time
• Aptitude test required
• Selection will be based on interview processes
• This job bid requires a 3rd Class Power Engineer license in a timely manner
